I've spoken a lot about about planning, habits and getting things done here on the blog. With my way of working, there's always something to be pushing forwards on.
It all sounds like a lot of work. And it is.
With time, all of these elements add up until you have a lot of plates spinning. It's going to get hard and you're going to want to give up.
But there’s another layer to increasing your chances of completing your goals than just meticulous planning.
When you’ve taken the time to not just plan, but follow through on it; you need to reward yourself and incentivise action in the future.
I personally do this in my own work. Whenever I successfully complete a series of steps towards my goals. I get myself some shoes (IDK why this motivates me, but they gas me up). Most recently it was the Travis Scott Jordan 6.
A lot is said of working a lot and smashing out goal after goal. But not much on what keeps the person behind those goals happy. So here I am with a quick reminder to reward yourself and give that pat on the back you deserve for getting things done.
As part of your planning, set milestones where you can give yourself something that will keep your motivation high going forward. It's super important in following through and keeping yourself motivated and your momentum high.
It'll pay huge dividends in the long run.
